First thing to talk about... My friend from university graduated on the 25th of November and she came out with us on the 24th so that she could celebrate with us and then celebrate with her family on the Friday. We were going to be classy and just go out for a meal with the odd drink... Ha. Yeah right. We ended up on a bar crawl and then in one of the nightclubs. It does, however, show that the spontaneous nights are the best nights out.

Unfortunately, Alyson didn't feel well so she had to leave before the night was out but we all understood that because no one wants to be sick on the day of their graduation. So eventually it ended up just being Shonar - the one wearing the lace top - and I but that was okay because we found James, my neighbour.
This year, sadly, I've not made that many friends in halls because they're not friendly due to every flat being blocked off with an electric key so you either bond with your flatmates or you have to go hang out in the smokers area. As a non-smoker, I don't usually mind hanging out when there's one or two smokers but when there's a large group, you can feel it in your lungs so I tend to avoid the smoker's area meaning this year, I aint a social bunny.
James, however, broke through this by forcing me out of my room and the pair of us - along with his girlfriend, Steffie - would hang out in the living room while either they or I cooked. It would always be a giggle and the two of them would tell me about their days and I'd say about mine then we'd start talking about family. It's nice. You know, to have someone like that you can talk to.
Sadly though, before this night, James and Steffie had moved out to a couples flat in the halls so, again, I was left alone but seeing James out was a real treat. This, however, was until he did the whole "how can someone as cute as you be single?" No one seems to understand my argument of how difficult it is being in a relationship when I don't have a steady address, I live in two countries remember, and I don't want to have to break someone's heart next year if I make the decision to come home to England. James, however, was the lucky type who came to university and met a girl from the exact same city as him. What's the chances?
He then started to play with my dimples which made me want to punch him so instead I teased him about his constant playing of The Who at silly times in the morning which I know was so that I didn't have to hear other things. The joys, my friends, of living in halls is that you know EVERYTHING.
However... I then went home with James and we stayed up talking all night which was really sweet. I like James, a lot. He is a pretty boy but as always, I find myself being close friends to him instead.
Well seeing as we're talking about Alyson's graduation, I can't end this paragraph without this picture...

She looks great and she's doing really well in the "real" world by having found herself a job in the career that she wants to do which is really difficult what with the recession happening here at the moment. So congratulations to my friend, Alyson, and may she continue to be lucky throughout life! :D
Second topic, I'm home again.
Mum and dad went away on their first honeymoon last week, nearly twenty one years of marriage and their first time away alone without friends or children so it totally qualifies as a honeymoon as they never had one in the first place, and left me alone in the house because Barry was shipped off to Grandad's and Lauren was either at work or Chris'.
However, we changed the rules so that both Lauren and Chris could stay here with me. It was great fun. Some nights it was just Lauren and I so we'd have girly times by pretending to be pop stars into hairbrushes or tubes of lip glosses before snuggling up in the parent's double bed - I know longer have a bed in this joint so it was the smartest decision - or we'd lie downstairs on the couch with our duvets and watch endless crap on the T.V.
The first few nights Chris stayed over, he slept alone in our bedroom but then eventually we decided it was too cold for that shite so we all stayed together in mum and dad's room. The awesome moment when you're all that close, it doesn't even hinder us. I bet half the world would find this relationship precisely weird but I have the exact same relationship with most of my friends who are in partnerships... It's weird.
Then at the weekend... We broke the kitchen sink. Water was spraying everywhere and could we find the hot water valve to turn the water off? Could we buggar... Thankfully, my Uncle Dean is a handy man so he came round and fixed it for us but did wonder why we were cooking tea at nearly nine pm. We're so cool. So yeah, the parents left us and we broke the sink. They're never leaving us again! Ha.
I failed NaNoWriMo guys. University was just too hectic this year and it got in my way but I'm going to keep trying to write the story because I was really impressed with the idea and I was enjoying writing it but with work, assignments and study it was getting too heavy. Life sucks, right?
Speaking of university, I'm still hating on it. I wish I was out in the world working. Thankfully, the bar in Spain that mum and dad found was a scouse bar and they mentioned they'd be looking for summer staff so I'm going to try and get in on some of that action. I so want to work abroad!
However, my hatred for University means I don't know if I want to go back and do my extension course... Education for English students is going up to £9000 a year and I just don't know if I can afford that. I think I'm going to do an apprenticeship like Lauren is. She works in an old folks retirement centre, gets paid for it but is also working towards a degree. I'm sure that's the best option.
Okay. I think this is the longest ramble of my life. It's an extremely long blog and I'm sorry for boring you but I just wanted to catch you up.
Everyone excited for Christmas?
2 ramblings from friends:
